Lee
Lee Roy Selmon blends the merits of football scholarship in his home with the benefits of community service. First family he is the youngest of the nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon. They grew up on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. Two football. He is among three brothers who played for Oklahoma. All three made All-America. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the United States. Lee Roy won two championships, and 32-1-1 in his three seasons as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. A third scholarship saw him named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week while he attended college. After graduation, he landed in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers were all-pro three times and started an entrepreneurial career. In 1988, while working as an account liaison officer for First Florida Bank of Tampa, he worked with Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being among the top 10 youngsters of the United States. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6-2. In his time at for college, he was the head coach of the 1975 team. He joined University of South Florida in 1993 as an assistant director of sports. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988. He was also named to the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994, and then the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. Parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Sr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma gave it to them.
