Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who was able to transcend from the country genre to mainstream pop culture and become an iconic figure in the pop world. She also conquered all over the world in the process. Swift shed her country roots like they were a second skin to reveal that she was arguably the smartest populist singer/songwriter of her generation one that could tap into the zeitgeist make it personal and equally impressively do opposite. Swift's early tracks including the neotribute to Tim McGraw were a testament of her ability. But, her follow-up album Fearless in 2008 showcased a songwriter finding her voice and a wider audience. Fearless became a worldwide hit, not only in the United States (where it was certified with six platinum awards for Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") but in Canada, Australia as well as the U.K. and many other countries. Swift managed to build upon her progress with Speak Now almost two year following. The next three years, Swift's popularity grew with the release of three albums -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) during which time Swift entered the world of pop music in which her talent was already established. The popularity of her music grew after she changed her strategy by releasing 2020's streamlined the folk singer (and Evermore) and stayed atop of the pop world.
